How does the film industry work, from a commercial perspective?

How does the current international marketplace look? Who are the major players globally? And how can a film ‘travel’?

On Thursday 12th January at Eight Club Moorgate we took an in-depth look at the film industry, from a commercial perspective. Our panel of industry specialists from across the film production process broke down their individual roles and presented a picture of how a film production comes together, including the various stages of the film’s timeline. The panel discussed and shared various examples of films that they have worked on to illustrate both the opportunities and challenges of the film industry at this present time. Our guests learned how films are financed and the importance of a global audience. Polish and UK-Polish productions discussed in further detail to illustrate how these two filmmaking communities have worked together successfully.
